Course Description
Prerequisite: Open to graduate students and qualified undergraduates (those who have completed a minimum of 96 undergraduate credits with an overall GPA of at least 3.2). Qualified undergraduates must contact the Office of Graduate Studies for the required permission form. This course studies American connections with the wider world from immediately after Independence, through nineteenth century territorial expansion, and continuing to the international relations of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Transnational relationships are examined through historical, political, literary, and cultural writings, materials, and primary sources.
