Course Description

Prerequisite: Open to graduate students and qualified undergraduates (those who have completed a minimum of 96 undergraduate credits with an overall GPA of at least 3.2). Qualified undergraduates must contact the School of Graduate Studies for the required permission form.This course examines the African experience in the Americas from pre-Columbus to the present. It focuses on the historical, cultural and social commonalities among African diasporic communities in North America, South America, Central America and the Caribbean.
