Course Description
This experiential, hands-on course is designed to introduce basic techniques of archaeological research design, field investigation, data analysis, and artifact curation. Participation in this course will include both classroom lectures and off campus field work dedicated to excavating, systematically recording, and interpreting 18th and 19th century activity in southern New Jersey. Students may also work with local communities through engagement with schoolchildren and other interested parties as part of the fieldwork experience.
