Course Description

Prerequisite: Not Open to those with credit for GAH 1262, ARTV 1161, ARTV 1164, or ARTV 1167. Open only to Visual Arts studio majors including: the BFA in Illustration, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, or Visual Communications; the B.A. in Interdisciplinary VisualArts (VIBA); and the B.A. in Visual Arts K-12 Certification (EDVA). Students develop an understanding of the organizational methods used in two-dimensional artwork. They utilize the elements and principles of design while working in black-and-white and color media. Problem solving processing and research are integrated into the development and evaluation of images.The application of two-dimensional design is analyzed in relation to art and design professions. The significance of presentation and competency with art materials are emphasized.
