Course Description

Prerequisite: Not open to those with credit for GAH 1262, ARTV 1161, ARTV 1164, or ARTV 1165. Open only to Visual Arts studio majors including: the BFA in Illustration, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, or Visual Communications; the B.A. in Interdisciplinary Visual Arts (VIBA); and the B.A. in Visual Arts K-12 Certification (EDVA). Students develop an understanding of the organizational methods used in two-dimensional artwork. The elements and principles of design are explored through studio work using bitmap and vector based graphics software. Problem solving processes and research are integrated into the development and evaluation of visual images in art and design. The significance of presentation, craftsmanship and technical proficiency is emphasized.
