Course Description

This course examines the variety of art forms created in Africa, Asia, and the Americas. We will look at the types of art created by each culture, including painting, sculpture, architecture, and ceremonial objects, as well as the context in which the objects were used. Our focus will usually be on the arts of Africa, Asia and Pre-Columbian Central America, but the content of the course may vary from year to year.
