Course Description

The Gallery Curatorial Internship provides a practical behind-the-scenes experience in a gallery setting with an emphasis on curating, exhibition design and preparation, public programming, and public engagement. Under the guidance of the exhibition coordinator and faculty advisor, students will learn the major approaches, theories and skills needed in the day-to-day operations of an exhibition space as well as complete biweekly writing assignments and a final exhibition proposal. Interns should work a minimum of 7 hours per week; the schedule will be set by the exhibition coordinator with student input.
