Course Description
The principles of Mendelian and modern genetics: the structure, function, and inheritance of genes. Includes the chemistry and structure of chromatin and chromosomes, patterns of transmission from one generation to another, the nature and causes of mutations, and the mechanisms by which genes regulate the activities of cells and organisms. We strongly recommend that CHEM 2120 is taken before Genetics (BIOL 2110), even though it can be taken concurrently.
