Course Description

Bioinformatics is a field of biology in which computers are used to help scientists answer biological questions. This course will cover biological databases, analysis of DNA and protein sequences, assessing sequence similarity, using DNA and protein sequences to predict structure, the study of genomes, the study of all of the proteins of an organism (proteomics). Students will use computational tools to perform their own analyses of biological molecules.
