Course Description

The biochemistry, genetics, cell and molecular biology of the vertebrate immune system. Topics covered include cellular basis of immune responses and its regulation, B- and T-cell differentiation, antibody and T-cell receptor structures and the generation of their diversity, the MHC complex, inflammation, cancer and immunity, autoimmunity and other immunopathologies. The experimental basis of immunology will be emphasized. Does not include laboratory work.
