Course Description

The purpose of this course is to help students become multiculturally competent counselors who are familiar with multicultural and pluralistic characteristics of individuals within and among diverse groups nationally and internationally. Students will engage in personal exploration regarding their own unique sociocultural background, beliefs, biases, and assumptions. In addition, students will develop working knowledge of theories and models of multicultural counseling, cultural identity development, and social justice and advocacy.
