Course Description

Not open to students with credit for CRIM 2355. The objective of this course is to expand upon the fundamental principles of forensic science that are taught in FORENSIC SCIENCE LAB I. The course delves into the historical significance of criminalistics, focusing particularly on hair and fiber evidence, DNA forensic fingerprinting, investigative genetic genealogy, forensic toxicology, bloodstain pattern analysis, handwriting analysis, and impression and tool mark evidence. Additionally, the course covers topics such as firearms, ballistics, and flight path analysis. The culmination of the course involves a mock trial centered around the reports prepared during the laboratory assignments.
