Course Description

Prerequisite: DANC 1101 with a grade of C or better and Permission of Instructor. Open only to Theatre, Music, and Dance majors and minors. Formerly titled Elementary/Intermediate Dance. Course focuses on coordination, alignment, musicality, and conditioning, as well as a development of the elementary concepts of modern dance technique, including contractions, undercurves, articulation of the spine, and shifting off of center. Course work includes placing technique in historical and contemporary context. May be repeated seven times for credit.
