Course Description

This course investigates how to construct and sequence dance classes that are anatomically correct and developmentally appropriate while integrating somatic theories, scientific research, and contemporary aesthetic practices. Students will gain knowledge in wellness and essentials in the dance field, such as basic injury prevention, anatomy, and nutrition, in addition to defining their personal philosophy and career goals. Observation and in-class peer teaching will support student development and foster proactive dance educators.
