Course Description

This 1 credit prep course, when taken in the Spring, prepares you for the Northwest Field Experience Course in the Summer. ENVL 4500 (the 4 credit course) focuses on water, energy and natural resource management and stewardship issues in the US Northwest and Southwest. The impact of urban and agricultural development on water and energy demand and natural resource management will be covered. The three-week field trip, running from early June to July, covers New Mexico, Arizona, California, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Oregon and Washington ($1,200 surcharge). When taken in the Fall, this prep course prepares students for International Sustainable Development (SUST 2701), which has field experiences in Ecuador and Brazil during winter break.
