Course Description

The course is designed to advance applied geographic information system (GIS) skills by introducing problem-solving principles and strategies for students beginning their GIS careers. It covers the latest and most advanced GIS techniques, including geoprocessing, model building, terrain analysis, distance analysis, image processing, 3D modeling, data packaging and sharing, and online GIS publication using current GIS software platforms. Upon completion, students are expected to fully understand the GIS approach to the decision-making process and be familiar with advanced techniques for data analysis and manipulation, problem-solving, and customizing GIS projects.
