Course Description

This course is one of the elective courses required for Planning and GIS concentration and for the GIS Certification Program. It is designed to build a solid geodatabase foundation for student who desires for a professional career using GIS technology. It focuses on the application of the technology in spatial data acquisition, geodatabase development and management, and spatial data services via cloud-based GIS. It also advances students' skill and experiences in real life GIS applications using the latest technology. When student finishes this class, he/she is expected to be able to develop a comprehensive geodatabase, including spatial data acquisition, standardization, transformation, and documentation. He/she can also manage and publish/share such a geodatabase efficiently and effectively to serve the needs of his/her organization, community, and general public for various types of applications.
