Course Description
This course will explore innovative approaches to the management of land given the pressures of population growth, climate change and other environmental stressors. We will consider government laws, economic incentives, and consumer preferences that create urban sprawl. The course will focus on the creative approaches to balanced management and permanent protection of large areas in the USA (a million acres or more). A co-requisite field study course (ENVL 3315), which will focus on the Pinelands National Reserve, is required.
