Course Description
This course will examine the lives of women in ancient society in the Mediterranean region (Egypt, Mesopotamia, Israel, Greece, Rome). We will look at everyday life of the wealthy and the poor, the roles that these societies assign to women, and exceptional women in politics and the arts.
