Course Description

Introduction to a variety of philosophical issues in the law including: capital punishment, the role of the jury, the fundamental nature of law, hate crime laws, the role of the attorney. Through non-fiction documentaries and books, plays and films about real and fictional cases, court decisions, and a series of philosophical writings, we will grapple with these issues.
