Course Title

SAINTS AND SINNERS: HISTORY OF THE POPES

Course Description

Formerly titled History of the Papacy. This course examines the history and religious/political significance of the papacy from its biblical origins to the present day. Particular attention will be paid to the historical development of the office and to the influence the Bishop of Rome (i.e., the pope) has had on the development of Western civilization.
