Course Description
This course provides a snapshot of trends in experimental (not purely naturalistic) American theater for the past 50 years. Sam Shepherd, Richard Maxwell, Mac Wellman, Maria Irene Fornes, Robert Wilson, the Wooster Group, Butoh, "alienation" techniques, multimedia, Surrealism and indeterminacy are among the topics covered.
