MEDIA, PUBLIC PERCEPTION AND GENOCIDE
Course Description
This interdisciplinary course examines multiple media influences on public perception and the implications and collective/political choices at various stages of genocidal violence. Through select case studies and relevant theoretical constructs, students critically interrogate propaganda, war-correspondent reportage, and retrospective memorialization of mass atrocity, war, and genocide in the 20th and 21st centuries.
