Course Description
This course is designed to provide the student with a historical and social background of the bicycle, while also introducing the student to how the bicycle has affected/does affect our daily lives. Some of the specific topics that will be covered in this course include: how the bicycle was developed, how the bicycle evolved from a recreation tool to a working tool, women's suffrage, city planning and politics, professional cycling, performance enhancing drug use, visual and written art, physics of the bicycle, nutrition, bike-related businesses, and many other topics.
