Course Description
This course focuses on a single spectacular landscape site - California's Yosemite Valley - and considers this locale from a variety of perspectives including science, history, and art. We will begin with the geological origins of the valley, its discovery and history, its importance in the environmental movement, and its interpretation in paintings and photographs.
