Course Description
This course examines the historical, biological, social, political, economic, philosophical, and metaphorical impact of pestilence and plague in order to open discussion on how, as human beings, we face ethical dilemmas and make ethical decisions. Students will experience a variety of depictions of pestilence and plagues in literature and film, and, as this course is seminar format, will present and discuss their interpretations of the assigned material and their rationale of the presented ethical dilemmas.
