Course Description
What is life? How is life modified to benefit us and solve world issues such as curing diseases, sustaining the environment, fighting hunger, developing better products, and impacting the society? What are these innovations in different parts of the world and across different cultures? What are these innovations through history of time, how have they shaped societies and what does the future hold? What are the dangers and ethical issues associated with meddling with life? In this course, students will examine these fundamental questions, exploring the nature of life and its innovations. As part of the international/multicultural (I attribute) learning experience, it also integrates a COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project, a global learning experience connecting students with peers in another country through virtual interaction.
