Course Description
This course requires students to master the skills and knowledge needed to enjoy, endure, and survive in backcountry wilderness. The course covers aspects of material science, meteorology, topography and mapping, chemistry and physics, biology and physiology, and animal behavior, among other topics. Students will also be expected to master and demonstrate a wide array of skills, from fire making to land navigation, and take part in multiple outdoor exercises and backcountry travel.
