Not open to students with credit for GSS 1078. The growing gap between the rich and the middle class has had a profound impact on US politics, society, and culture. This course will analyze the forces contributing to this trend and debates over its consequences for economic life and public policy. We will also focus on the measurement, causes, and consequences of poverty.
