Course Description
This course explores the history of eugenics in the United States, and the role of scientists in promoting/opposing eugenicist practices. We will examine a range of tactics (sterilization, boarding schools, fitter family competitions) and efforts to control populations along numerous dimensions such as race, disability status, and sexuality.
