Course Description
This course will examine the Byzantine Empire from the age of Justinian to the fall of Constantinople. In addition to political, religious, social and cultural history, an examination of the relation of the Byzantine Empire with the Latin West, the Islamic East, the world of the Slavs, and the Russians in the North.
