IMPERIALISM IN MODERN EAST ASIA
Course Description
This course examines Chinese expansion in Central Asia, Western encroachment on China and Japan, Japanese conquest of its East Asian neighbors, and American imperialism in Vietnam. It compares how East Asian countries responded to imperialism differently and investigates how imperialism affected both victims and victimizers in the Pacific Rim.
