Course Description

This course looks at major revolutions in the Atlantic World: predominantly the American, French, and Haitian revolutions, and the Spanish American Wars for Independence. It emphasizes the transnational reach of revolutionary movements and traces diverse groups who grappled with new ideas of rights, freedom and inclusion. Students will learn about different approaches to political and social change.
