Course Description
A comprehensive study of the United States history with Vietnam. Includes the history of Vietnam prior to U.S. involvement; the origins of U.S. direct intervention; the framework of U.S. foreign policy within which Vietnam became a priority; the effects of Vietnam on internal U.S. culture and politics; the war itself, its resolution and consequences; and meaning of the war for the military, diplomacy, politics, economics, culture, and historical memory.
