PIRATES, OUTLAWS, AND MIGRANTS
Course Description
This course analyzes the concepts of pirates and outlaws as they are applied to migrants by the empires of the ancient world. The class will look specifically at the conflict between Egyptians, Sea Peoples (including the Philistines), and Israelites. Additionally, the Egyptian conflict with the Apiru (outlaws) as well as the Greek struggle with piracy will be investigated.
