Examines the role individual memory, collective memory, and commemoration plays in constructing identity and history in the historical case of the Greek people under Ottoman rule and after. Topics: revolution, state-building, war, population displacement, immigrations, culture, assimilation, archives & oral accounts and monuments and historical sites.
