Course Description

This course explores the three most prominent dictators of Twentieth-Century Europe. Central lines of investigation include their ideologies, rise to power, and style of rule. Comparisons will serve to analyze the validity of such concepts as "totalitarianism", "fascism", and even "dictator." We will examine the biographies and personalities of these dictators in the context of modern European and world history.
