ADVANCED SEMINAR IN HISTORY: NATURE
Course Description
Permission of Instructor Required. HIST 2129 is recommended but not required. This advanced seminar in history explores human interaction with the natural world as an active agent in the past. Topics include science, both in its development and its impact, health, disease, medicine, technology, nutrition, and environment. It stresses research strategies: hypothesis formation, historiographical searches, the collection and assembling of evidence, the formulation of generalizations, and the assessment of the significance of research.
