Course Description

Permission of Instructor Required. HIST 2129 is recommended but not required. The advanced seminar in history on belief treats the role of religion, religious movements, and ideology in the past as they interact with political and social change. It stresses research strategies: hypothesis formation, historiographical searches, the collection and assembling of evidence, the formulation of generalizations, and the assessment of the significance of research.
