Course Description

Permission of Instructor Required. HIST 2129 is recommended but not required. Repeatable once for credit when topics vary. The advanced seminar in history special topics examines themes of historical relevance that transect time and space, such as philanthropy, objectivity, and public discourse. The course stresses research strategies: hypothesis formation, historiographical analysis, collecting and assembling evidence, inference construction, and assessing the significance of research.
