Course Description

This course provides a safe environment for students to examine leadership concepts in human resource and talent management. Topics include strategic talent development; recruiting, selecting, and onboarding new employees; mentoring and coaching; adult learning principles; employee competencies; leadership development and the pipeline; training and development; organizational development and change techniques; change processes; and readiness for organizational change. Through case studies, discussions, team projects, literature reviews, and reflective inquiry, students build skills in talent and leadership development, organizational change, and best practices. The course supports growth as scholarly practitioners and prepares students to enter the dissertation phase of the program.
