Course Description

The course covers the basics of qualitative and quantitative research designs, preparing students to read and conduct empirical research. You will learn about the purposes, strengths, and limitations of various quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research approaches, and explore sampling, data collection, result interpretation, and ethical considerations in research through group-led discussions, presentations, peer review, and a flipped-classroom approach. We will discuss univariate statistical analyses that address different types of quantitative research questions, as well as thematic analysis for qualitative designs.
