Course Description

This course covers the history of the Armenian genocide from the end of the 19th century and into the 21st. Topics we will cover include the cultural history of the Armenians in the Ottoman empire, the long-term causes of the genocide, the genocidal process, post-genocide efforts towards justice, the Armenian diaspora, and genocide denial, memory and commemoration.
