Course Description
Topics in Holocaust Studies will address current conversations and debates in Holocaust scholarship and memory, including discussions on knowledge production, the Roma genocide, renewed debates on the Holocaust as unique, the role of antisemitism in pogrom violence against Jews, violence against Jews in North Africa in the frame of histories of French and Italian colonialism there, queering of Holocaust Studies, new directions in research on bystanders, the heated debates around the 2016 IHRA working definition of antisemitism, and more.
