Course Description
An introduction to the chemistry, geology, physical and biological processes of the world's oceans, marginal seas, and coastal zones. The multidisciplinary character of oceanography is stressed. Fundamental principles in all disciplines are introduced. The goal of this course is an integrated understanding of how the ocean works.
