Course Description

The focus of the course is to examine peer-reviewed research as a means of gathering data for refining and extending nursing science. Critique of research studies is carried out to determine applicability of findings to nursing interventions. Students explore the formation of research questions, literature reviews, evidence-based practice (EBP) projects, or research proposals to address a clinical problem. Emphasis is on the importance of theory, evidence-based practice, accountability, and ethical responsibility in the conduct of research.
