Course Description

Prerequisite: Completion of either an Adult Nurse Practitioner or Adult Gerontological Primary Care Nursing Practitioner Program and MSN degree.Corequisite: 5941 Pediatric Practicum. This course will focus on conditions unique to advanced practice with infants, children and adolescents. Content includes assessment techniques appropriate for age, health promotion, health protection and disease prevention and treatment. Care of the OB client is included. Emphasis is on the role of the nurse practitioner as a collaborative member of the health care and as a supportive resource for patients.
