Course Description

Prerequisite: Not open to first year students. One recommended but not required: ARTV 2175, ARTV 2176, PHIL 1101, PHIL 2211, ARTV 1166, ARTV 1168 ARTV 2270, SOCY 1101, SOCY 3642, ANTH 1100, SUST 2100, SUST 4401.This course is about the relationship between philosophy and urbanism. Living, creating, thinking, building, work, and play: each circulate and are connected as places in space. Designing Plato's City will explore these circulations and connections from our desirous idea of a "good life" (of happiness), by designing the "good life" as an ideal/urban design.
