INTRODUCTION TO PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION
Course Description
This introductory-level Public Administration course prepares students with the knowledge and practical tools required in the workplace for public employees at the local, state, or federal level. Students will analyze the system that, essentially, determines the public agenda, shapes public policy, and makes impactful decisions about how the government operates. Students will also investigate the influence of non-government groups such as pressure groups, government bureaucrats themselves, elected officials, and power brokers. The course also focuses on the skills and professional development necessary for students to engage in effective planning, development, and program evaluation in the workplace.
