Course Description
This Special Topics course focuses on one of the most controversial and salient issues in the United States, both historically and in the present moment: Immigration. The course explores and analyzes how immigration politics and policy intersect with questions of national identity and culture, constitutional and human rights, federalism, national security, and economics. The primary focus of the course is the United States, but parallels are also drawn to the nexus of immigration and politics in the European Union and other regions in the world.
